About Us

The Tea Planters and Importers Company was founded in 1909 by Henri A. Kramers and has been supplying quality teas to loyal customers around the world for over 100 years. We have built up a reputation for consistently supplying the finest quality tea, blended with skill, to our clients, many of whom have been drinking our teas for over 50 years.

In 1936 Gerard Kramers joined his father in the business, restarting the company after the war, continuing to work until he was in his eighties. His son Roger, who had been tasting and blending since 1959, then took over the running of the company, while his daughter Louise became the fourth generation of the family to join The Tea Planters in 1989.

Teas

Peak quality teas are only produced in a few gardens at certain times of the year
when the weather conditions are favourable, they are rare and expensive
and the Tea Planters and Importers Company specialise in sending
these teas to connoisseurs all over the world.

We supply our blends in ½ Kilogram tins and refill packs of 1¼ Kilograms.

Our Blue Label is a special leaf tea with a distinctive natural flavour.

Our Green Label tea was introduced in the early 60's for customers in hard water areas.

Our Orange Label is a blend of teas from Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula and Uva districts of
Sri Lanka from estates over 1000 metres above sea level.

Our Red Label is a blend of black Chinese teas from the Anhwei province and has the
natural flavour unique to Keemun teas, unlike flavoured teas on the market today.

The Lilac Label is a blend of rare Darjeeling teas which are available for a short period
each year during the 'second flush' which occurs during May and June.

Our White Label is an unscented green China tea of exceptional quality.
